Salt room construction

salt_cave_therapy_room_20100504_1033464483Salt therapy can be both a profitable and spiritually rewarding business venture. However, its techniques are relatively new in the modern world. At Saltheaven our aim is to ensure that you receive support with every aspect of creating your salt therapy initiative. We therefore not only construct the salt room and install equipment such as haleogenerators and salt cocoon; our experts will also train your staff and also offer maintenance, support, and aftercare.

The method we use for constructing the salt therapy environment is called Turn-Key Installation.

Preparing your Salt Chamber

salt_cave_therapy_room_20100504_1805217645 We plan the salt room from the fundamental structure to the final overall embellishment that gives the Salt Cave its unique look and character. The presentation itself will enhance the therapeutic benefits of using the chamber. The design will give visitors a chance to leave the world behind and enter a tranquil, peaceful and yet uplifting environment that encourages relaxation and rejuvenation.

Before our work begins we need to ensure the room has been prepared sufficiently. The following elements need to be in place:

• Ensure all electricity connections and ventilation systems are laid and safely in place.

• Ensure there is sufficient access and egress from the salt room.

• Flooring should be tiled and smooth for health and safety reasons.

• Headroom should be between 240cms and 300cms.

• The temperature in the room should be 20C – 26C (68F – 79F). It is also recommended that humidity is kept between 45% and 65%.

• The walls have to be solid and saltpetre and mildew formation free environment.

Creating the ambience of the Salt chamber

Once the fundamental preparation has taken place the next stage is to create the Salt Cave mood and atmosphere. This is where the Salt cave really comes alive. We offer three different types of composition:

1. “Salt Cave” installation

salt-spa This form of construction is where quadruple layers of salt are added to all surfaces of the salt chamber. The amount of salt that is actually laid will depend on the room size. For instance, in a small room with dimensions of 2m by 3m (6.5` x 9.8`). The salt capacity within the room would need to be between 800 and 1200(kg). While a large room with dimensions of 5m by 5m (16.41` x 16.41`) it would need to be between 1800 and 2500(kg).

2. Saltheaven Unique “Salt Cave” installation

It is created by hand made sculpturing and mounting with prepared surface protection. Salt can be applied to the surface, or as another option we can paint the surface with a rock imitation colour.

salt-caveIt is necessary to avoid gloomy interiors which could cause claustrophobic feelings and anxiety. So our aim is to eliminate the usually typical, box or pipe effect of the rooms. It is requirement that the design gives the visitors a friendly and relaxing environment which allows the external world to be left behind and energies to be re-charged.

salt_room_blueAdded to the fundamental salt cave mountings the enchantment of the Salt cave is brought to life with the help of a light technique program; a sound system which can be installed to aid relaxation and hidden lamps carefully set amongst the furnishings to give the most magical effect.

3. Saltheaven Unique “Stalagmite Salt Cave”

stalagmite-cave Construction As the name suggests this method adds an extra dimension to the overall feel and ambience of the cave by mimicking the growth and hanging magnificence of stalagmites and stalactites. When creating stalactites, necessary headroom will need to be taken into consideration (Headroom should be between 350-400cms or higher.) To give further credence to the environment the cave effect is enhanced with back ground painting.

Turn-key Installation

Our aim is to take the stress out of the construction. We can organise everything for you! Just hand us the key for your chosen location then relax and wait until we complete the project. Saltheaven will do the work for you and organise the Salt Cave contractors, electrician, plumbing, fire & security and safety. All you would need to do is provide the staff when you are happy with the design and construction and the therapy room is ready to go. Turn-key and do the business.

salt_cave_therapy_room_20100504_1376283384We always recommend the ground is also covered with salt. This enhances the replication of the salt cave surroundings and also it can be a great focus for play for children. Because Salt almost has the same characteristics as sand – add a bucket and spade, and a child can be playing at the seaside at the same time as looking after their health! For health and safety and in order to keep the salt clean shoe protectors need to be worn while in the cave. The floor salt should be replaced every 18 months.

Many clients believe salt is salt and that’s it! But we go one step further and even offer clients different options use within the therapy room.

The options are:

• rock salt

• sea salt

• salt bricks

• crushed salt

• Himalaya salt

Now its beginning to look like salt therapy room!

Installation of Equipment and training

salt_cave_therapy_room_20100504_1317743706The third and final stage is to equip the room with the salt room generators and any peripheral equipment. All equipment is tested beforehand to ensure correct working order by our staff. It is at this stage we can train your own employees how to use the equipment safely and appropriately.

The overall period of time for this installation is approximated at 12 days.
